Pre-Veterinary Medicine
If you love animals and excel at math and science, consider a career in veterinary medicine. Veterinarians care for the health of animals and work to improve public health. They diagnose, treat and research medical conditions and diseases of pets, livestock and other animals.
Most veterinarians work in private clinics and hospitals. Others travel to farms, work in laboratories or classrooms or work for the government. Veterinarians must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited veterinary college.
Work with FVCC academic advisors to customize your degree so you're prepared to transfer and study Pre-Veterinary Medicine. In two years, earn an associate degree, complete lower-level general education requirements, and prepare to transfer to any four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree.
Transfer tracks are customized programs of study that prepare students to transfer. You will earn an Associate of Arts (AA) or an Associate of Science (AS) degree customized to your interests and transfer needs.
