Nursing: Registered Nursing, ASN

The Registered Nursing program prepares graduates to function as members and leaders of health care teams in various health care environments.

Upon completion of the Associate of Science (ASN)-Registered Nursing curriculum, students will

  • Caring: Demonstrate caring relationships to promote self-determination, integrity, and growth of the client and family.
  • Diversity and Cultural Competence: Advocate for cultural competence and diversity.
  • Nursing Judgement: Demonstrate nursing judgment and clinical-decision-making, incorporating evidence-based practices and the nursing process in the delivery of safe, holistic nursing care.
  • Professional Identity: Practice within the ethical, legal & regulatory frameworks of nursing, demonstrating professional behaviors reflecting self-awareness, integrity, and lifelong growth and development.
  • Quality and Safety: Manage and coordinate safe, quality client care in collaboration with the interprofessional health team.
  • Communication: Apply effective communication strategies to support interpersonal relationships and collaboration.
