Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) is dedicated to promoting excellence in lifelong learning with a focus on student success and community needs. Serving students, community members, business partners and constituents across the Flathead Valley and Lincoln County, FVCC strives to meet educational and workforce demands in every way possible.
In 1979, local business and industry leaders in Lincoln County identified a need for college-level coursework in supervisory and management skills. Partnering with FVCC, they launched a 30-credit supervisory management certificate program in Libby in 1980. Its success led the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce to form the Community College Research Committee, which gathered data demonstrating strong demand for expanded higher education opportunities. By 1984, FVCC and the Lincoln County Commissioners formalized the Lincoln County Campus. Initially, classes were held at high schools in Libby, Troy and Eureka as well as the Libby School District’s Lincoln Building. Instruction and administration later consolidated in the Lincoln Building until January 2002, when the campus moved to its current home at 225 Commerce Way in Libby.
FVCC invests in our local communities. Community partners in the Flathead Valley and Lincoln County help us provide the quality of education FVCC is known for.
