FVCC, Flathead Electric to Host Forum on GIS Technology
Flathead County GIS, Flathead Valley Community College and Flathead Electric Cooperative announced that they are holding Flathead Valley GIS Day.
GIS is computerized mapping technology used by industries to make data-driven decisions.
On Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Flathead Electric Cooperative's Community Room, there will be presentations on local GIS projects.
While the event is intended for GIS pros, members of the public are encouraged to attend.

The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) field focuses on storing, managing, and analyzing geographical information on a computer. In short, GIS is mapping technology and is creatively used across many industries to empower data-driven decisions and program management.
Flathead Valley GIS Day will be held at Flathead Electric Cooperative’s Community Room from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, November 15. Presentations on local GIS projects that impact the Flathead Valley are scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Although the free event is aimed at GIS pros, members of the public interested in the field of GIS work – including high school and college students – are encouraged to attend.
