Presidential Search

The Board of Trustees has announced that the search is underway to identify the next President of Flathead Valley Community College. 

An important step in the Presidential search process is the development of a Presidential Profile. On April 20, 2026, we will host three Public Forums to listen to your input, which will assist with the development of the Presidential Profile. The entire College community is invited and encouraged to participate in a discussion about the qualities, characteristics and qualifications we are seeking in the next President of Flathead Valley Community College, and the opportunities and challenges facing the College in the years to come. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the Presidential search process. The discussions will be facilitated by Jill Wakefield, Ed.D., ACCT Search Consultant.

We invite everyone to attend the one-hour Public Forums on April 20, 2026:

In addition to the Public Forum, we have developed a brief electronic survey that we hope you will complete if you are unable to attend one of the forums. The anonymous responses to the survey will also be used to inform the development of the draft Presidential Profile.

The Presidential Search Committee

The Presidential Search Committee will review the confidential applications, interview semifinalist candidates and identify the final candidates to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for consideration.

Presidential Search Timeline

April 2026ACCT facilitates a series of open public forums to solicit input for the development of a draft Presidential Profile. We invite everyone to attend the one-hour Public Forums on April 20, 2026. No RSVP needed.
April 2026Search Committee Training and Orientation: Committee receives, reviews and edits the draft Presidential Profile. The Board of Trustees to review, discuss, edit and finalize the Profile.
April 2026Position is open and advertised. The Presidential Profile is posted on the FVCC website and acctsearches.org. ACCT conducts targeted local, state-wide and national one-to-one recruitment.
July 8, 2026Target Date for Receipt of Applications. Position open until filled.
July 2026Search Committee Meeting: Discussion and selection of confidential semifinalist candidates.
July 2026Search Committee Meeting: Confidential interviews with semifinalists. Committee deliberates and selects finalists to forward to the Board of Trustees for further consideration.
September 2026Finalists interview with the Board of Trustees, tour campuses, participate in open public forums and meet with direct reports.
September 2026Board of Trustees announces the next President of Flathead Valley Community College.
January 2026Start date for next President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and the Board of Trustees.
