Presidential Search

The FVCC Board of Trustees has partnered with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Searches, the executive search division of ACCT, to lead the search process for FVCC's next president.

The first phase of the search focuses on gathering input to define leadership qualities, challenges and opportunities that are important to the community.

Community members, students and employees are invited to participate in public forums and an online survey. Feedback from these efforts will directly inform the presidential profile, which will guide recruitment and candidate evaluation.

  • Open Public Forums | April 20, 2026 | 10:00am, 12:30pm or 4:00pm. All forums will be held on campus in the Arts & Technology Building, Room 139. Each session will last approximately one hour and will be facilitated by ACCT Search Consultant Jill Wakefield, Ed.D.
  • Online Survey | The survey is anonymous and the results will be summarized in aggregate form. Please submit your survey feedback no later than 8:00pm (MT) on April 20.

The Presidential Search Committee

The Presidential Search Committee will review the confidential applications, interview semifinalist candidates and identify the final candidates to be forwarded to the Board of Trustees for consideration.

Presidential Search Timeline

April 2026Search Committee receives training and orientation. The Committee reviews and edits the draft Presidential Profile. FVCC Board of Trustees reviews, discusses, edits and finalizes the Profile.
April 2026Position is open and advertised. The Presidential Profile is posted on the FVCC website and acctsearches.org. ACCT conducts targeted local, state-wide and national one-to-one recruitment.
July 8, 2026Target date for receipt of applications. Position open until filled.
July 2026Search Committee reviews applications and selects confidential semifinalist candidates.
July 2026Search Committee conducts confidential interviews with semifinalists. Committee deliberates and recommends finalists to forward to FVCC Board of Trustees for further consideration.
September 2026FVCC Board of Trustees interviews finalists. Finalists tour campus, participate in open public forums and meet with direct reports.
September 2026FVCC Board of Trustees deliberates and approves the next President.
September 2026FVCC announces the next President.
December 2026FVCC Board of Trustees communicates Presidential Transition Plan.
January 2027Start date for next President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and FVCC Board of Trustees.
